Niners Fire Defensive Coordinator Steve Wilks

Steves Wilks has been fired after one year as the DC of the San Francisco's Forty Niners. Following a year when the Niners defense as either been spectacularly great and then somewhat lackluster during the season. I think what probably did him in was when Patrick Mahomes was able to march right down the field and pick up a first down to win the game. But Mahomes has done that to many teams so who really knows what the real reason was in this decision. I think he should have been given more than one year to sort this out but this is the NFL where things move at a fast and furious pace. It's a cut throat business.

I think he was the scapegoat for Shanahan losing yet another Super Bowl. He should have been given more than just one year, I mean he did have a great defense that reached the Super Bowl. Not many DC has been able to beat Mahomes in a Super Bowl.
