As Bill Belichick parted ways with Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots, everyone though surely that Belichick would get a head coaching football job fairly soon. The odds on favorite was the Washington Commanders, however the Atlanta Falcons were the only team to interview him. Was it a case of him wanting too much power in the teams decision making or some other kind of power struggle? Also having to sit out a year does this hurt his chances of getting a head coaching job in 2025.

Belichick simply wants too much power and what he's shown at running draft picks and in free agency, teams are not willing to give that up to him. It's not like it was when he had Tom Brady. Belichick will be 73 going into the 2025 NFL season. So unless he goes to a really good team and gets on a major winning streak, it will take him two years to break Don Schula's record. Belichick is 15 wins away from becoming the all time most winning NFL coach in history, and the only reason he still want's coach is to try to win a Super Bowl without Brady, but more importantly break Schula's record. Belichick simply should go to a decent team and just coach football, and in two years should be able to break Schula's record.
